Wanda Renee Palmer peacefully answered her Master’s call into eternal rest on June 21, 2026. She was born on January 23, 1968, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late Floyd E. and Teresa L. Palmer.
Wanda received Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. As a faithful member of Chickahominy Baptist Church, she served God with great joy.
Wanda, affectionately called “Pumpkin,” was educated in the Williamsburg/James City County Public School System. She was formerly employed at The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. She was also employed with the Williamsburg-James City County Public School System until her time of disability.
She was a devoted mother, a doting grandmother, a loving sister, and friend. She cherished spending time with her family, community, and friends. She often could be found sitting under the tree enjoying their company. She was known for her hospitality and outgoing personality. Wanda was a “people person” and was known and loved by many. In her earlier years, she enjoyed playing softball. She was a die-hard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed watching them play.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Floyd E. and Teresa L. Palmer; brother, Randy Palmer; sister, Angela Claiborne; parental grandparents, Frank and Martha Palmer; and maternal grandparents, Bernard and Lillian Wallace. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her sons, Dontey Palmer and Randy Palmer; bonus son, Quajuan Graves (Andrea); sister, Yolanda James (Vincent); brother, Radley Palmer; grandchildren, Isaiah, Iraiah, Malaysia, Skyla, Micaela, and Robin; devoted friend, Michael Jefferson; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, family members, and friends.
