Carmen “Grammy” Elizabeth Weller, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home in Virginia Beach with family by her side on July 26.
She was born on November 3, 1937, in Fredericksburg VA, to Frank and Carmen Shackelford. She was a 1956 graduate of Norview High School in Norfolk.
She retired after over twenty years from the Quality Inn Lake Wright.
She is preceded in death by her father, Frank K. Shackelford Sr., mother, Carmen Urrutia Blanco, husband, George W. Weller, Jr, and brother Frank “Kendall” Shackelford Jr.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy Watkins and husband John of Hampton, as well as her children, Bruce Weller and wife Peggy of Virginia Beach, Glenn Weller of Virginia Beach, Donna Walsh and husband Jimmy of Norfolk, Lisa Gaylord of Virginia Beach and Mike Harris and wife Amy of Ft. Myers, Fl., seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many other extended family members.
She was an amazing Mom, Grammy and an overall amazing person. She loved and accepted without judgment and will be missed greatly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at her granddaughter’s home at 920 Lamplight Ln, Virginia Beach 23452 on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 2 p.m. All are welcome to join.
