Ernest H. Hill Jr., affectionately known as Ernie, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2024, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Born on January 17, 1955, in Virginia to Ernest Hill Sr. and Evelyn Hill. Ernie lived a life filled with laughter, hard work, and passion.
At the age of 69, Ernie leaves behind a legacy of dedication and love. As the Owner of Oceana Muffler and Brakes, he was not only a skilled mechanic but also a reliable and trustworthy businessman.
When he wasn’t tinkering under the hood of a car, Ernie’s interests included spending time out on his boat, showcasing his handiwork skills that were second to none, eating breakfast on the weekends at Margie and Ray’s with his buddies, and spending quality time with his family and friends.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents Ernest Sr. and Evelyn Hill.
Ernie will be deeply missed by his loving wife Sandy Hill, with whom he has shared 51 amazing years with, his sons Dustin Hill and wife Kelly and Devon Hill and wife Veronica, and his cherished grandchildren Landon, Kolbie, and Gavin Hill. He will also be missed by nieces, nephews and many more extended family members. Their memories of Ernie will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
A Celebration of Life for Ernie will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, at Altmeyer Funeral Home Maestas Chapel (1801 Baltic Ave, Virginia Beach, VA 23451). Join us as we honor the life of a man who touched so many with his kindness, humor, and hardworking spirit.
