Sherri R. Brockwell, 56, of Quinton, Va, fought a courageous battle with cancer right up to the end on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
Sherri was born to Ann Burton and the late Donald Burton, Sr., on February 28, 1968. She grew up in Highland Springs, where she attended and graduated from Highland Springs High School, class of 1987.
Sherri met the love of her life and got married to Butch Brockwell on August 12, 1989. She was a hard-working woman and always put love into anything she did. She ran her own cleaning business for several years and took pride in her work. Sherri also loved children. She babysat for the community and even drove the school bus for several years, just to be sure the children had someone who cared for their wellbeing. Don’t let her soft heart fool you, Sherri also didn’t mind telling you how she felt. You may get by with a few things, but not too much on her watch!
Sherri loved her husband, but absolutely adored her children, Kristina and Michael. Her favorite pastime was going to the beach. She loved the feel of the sand and cool salty breeze in the air. If they couldn’t get to the beach, she would settle with family trips to Water Country in Williamsburg. Sherri also enjoyed crafting, painting, and taking care of flowers. If it seems all her hobbies center around being outside, it’s true, because she loved the great outdoors. Her love and gung-ho spirit will be missed all who loved her. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Burton, Sr., and her brother, Donald “Don” Burton, Jr.
Sherri leaves cherished memories behind with her husband of 34 years, Clarence “Butch” Brockwell; her daughter, Kristina Brockwell and fiancé, Michael Johnson; her son, Michael Brockwell; grandson, C.J. Nelson; beloved mother, Ann Burton; and her four-legged feline child, Harley. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including a dear friend, Tracy Anthony.
A memorial service will be held in the near future. Please check back for time and date.
