Ricky L. Williams, 65, of Wilmington, NC, formerly of Charles City, VA, transitioned on February 13, 2024.
Ricky received his early education in Charles City Public Schools. He went on to get a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Norfolk State. Ricky found employment as a Naval contractor with Unisys for 15 years. He later on went to work for the New Hanover Medical Regional Center, in Wilmington, NC, as a Cardiac Medical Equipment Technician.
Ricky was a quiet and gentle giant. He loved getting the chance to lounge at home and catch his favorite Sci-Fi shows and enjoyed going to the movies. Ricky enjoyed good food and a good restaurant experience. He will be missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Roscoe Willams, Sr. and Adele Williams.
Ricky is survived by his sisters, Hollis Williams of Hampton, VA and Joyce Williams of Henrico, VA; brothers, Kenneth Williams (Chil’lon), of Quinton, VA and Leonard Williams (Valenta) of Charles City, VA, along with a host of nieces, nephews, one great nephews, cousins and friends, one special friend, Tom Hoot.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140, with a viewing one-hour prior. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 5500 Adkins Rd, Providence Forge, VA 23140. There will be no repast following services.
