Mary Jane (Montgomery) “Janie” Fields, 86, of Providence Forge, Virginia, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2024.
She was born January 10, 1938, to the late Elgan Montgomery and Mary (Stevens Montgomery) Machnik. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Rodney; her son, Bradley; her brother, Dwain Montgomery and an infant sister, Wilma Jean Montgomery.
She is survived by her daughters Rebecca “Becki” (Jim) Wright, Mary (Jeff) Adams and Julie (Daniel) Wright; grandchildren Collin Adams, Marryn Adams, Janie Wright, Brooke (Steve) Andrzejewski, Brandie (Zachary) Andrzejewski and Brandon Wright; great-granddaughter, Ava Andrzejewski; sister-in-law Ardath (Robert) Lawless; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Janie was born in Ironton, Ohio and raised in Greenup, Kentucky and Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Central High School in Columbus and worked at Huntington National Bank before devoting herself to her husband and children. She was a loving, and beloved, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed immensely.
Services will be private and at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity.
