After years of battling cancer, Steven Martin Lahouchuc died on January 22nd at Sentara Leigh Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Steven was born November 7, 1961 in California, moving to Virginia Beach as a youth. He graduated from Kempsville High School. His first job was at Wendy’s where he met his wife, Darlene. They married in 1983.
Steve loved bowling with his buddies and family, and was known as “Kidpin” in the bowling world. He not only bowled for fun, but in tournaments as well, with many wins
He was a huge fan of the Miami Dolphins and would head to Busch Gardens as often as he could. Steve forever loved the amusement parks.
Steve is survived by is wife of 41 years Darlene [Krause] Lahouchuc; son Steven (Liz) Michael Lahouchuc; daughter Brittany Marie Lahouchuc; father Joseph Lahouchuc, Sr.; brother Joe (Cathy) Lahouchuc, Jr.; sister Cynthia (Edwin) Collett; brother Kevin (Jennifer) Lahouchuc; 2 grandchildren; 7 nephews; 3 nieces; and his pets.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Lahouchuc.
The family would like to express their gratitude for all the support, prayers, and love from families and many friends, and to all the healthcare professionals, especially Virginia Oncology Associates and the Emily Couric Cancer Center at UVA, who compassionately treated and supported Steve since the onset of his cancer in 2016.

Steven Lahouchuc’s life will be celebrated by friends and family through a visitation on Friday, February 9 (5 p.m. to 8 p.m.) at Altmeyer Funeral Home 5033 Rouse Dr. Va Beach 23462, with a mass on Saturday, February 10 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church 3314 Sandra Lane Va Beach 23464 at 10 a.m.
