JoAnn M. Cardaropoli, 77, of Virginia Beach

JoAnn M. Cardaropoli, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on November 9, 2023, in Virginia Beach at the age of 77. She was born on January 31, 1946, in New Jersey, the daughter of the late Lewis and Marie DePinto.

JoAnn dedicated her life to her work as a lifelong hair cosmetologist, bringing beauty and joy to those she served. She had a passion for her craft, always seeking to learn and improve her skills. JoAnn talent and commitment left a lasting impact on everyone she worked with. Outside of her professional life, JoAnn had a plethora of interests. She was an avid baker and cook,
finding solace and creativity in the kitchen. JoAnn had a knack for creating delicious meals and desserts that brought smiles to the faces of her loved ones. She also enjoyed engaging in arts and crafts, using her hands to transform something old into something new. Her artistic abilities allowed her to express herself and bring beauty into the world.

JoAnn was a dedicated member of the First Simple Church of Williamsburg, where she found strength and solace in her faith. She was also an active member of the Surviving Sisters of Cancer Group, where she found support and formed friendships with individuals who understood her journey.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul J. Cardaropoli, her parents, Lewis and Marie DePinto, and her brother, Joseph DePinto. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Surviving JoAnn are her sons, Martin J. Duffy Jr. and Matthew J. Duffy; her grandson, Martin J. Duffy III; her daughter-in-law, Samantha Swanson; her brothers, Anthony and Lewis; and her sisters, Marie, Carol, Barbara, and Rosemary. JoAnn love for her family was immeasurable, and she will be deeply missed.

A memorial service to honor JoAnn’s life will be held on Saturday, November 25, at noon at 16401 Chickahominy Bluff Rd. in Williamsburg, VA, 23185.

In this time of grieving, let us remember JoAnn for her kind spirit, her talent, and the joy she brought to those who knew her.
