Suzanne E. Adkins entered into the joy of the LORD on April 17, 2023.
Born on September 18, 1956 at Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C. to the late Edward C. and Hilda C. Adkins. They are rejoicing now that their daughter has joined them in their long wait for her. She is survived by a host of family and friends.
Suzanne graduated from Potomac Senior High. After graduation in June 1975, she entered into the workforce the Private Sector with various jobs. In November 1980, Suzanne began working with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) where she worked for four and half years. In the spring of 1985, she left the IRS she returned to the Private Sector for a short time and reentered the Government working with the Bureau of the Census, Department of Commerce. During her service at the Census Bureau she saw numerous Census Counts. While working at the Bureau of the Census she met many interesting people, served on the American Indian and Alaska Native Committee and took several college courses given by the Bureau and the University of Maryland. Suzanne retired from the Bureau of the Census in 2011.
Suzanne attended the Hillcrest Baptist Church from the age of three years. She accepted the LORD as her Savior when she was seven years old and was baptized at Hillcrest Baptist Church by Reverend Wayne Scott. While attending Hillcrest Baptist Church, Suzanne served on the Decoration Committee and in the Nursery, took pictures when necessary for the Recreation Committee and participated in various plays. Suzanne was a proud member of Chickahominy Indian Tribe. After her retirement, she moved to Charles City Virginia, where she attended Samaria Baptist Church.
