Paige Isaline Hewlett, 76, of Williamsburg, VA passed away peacefully in the early hours of Saturday, January 28th, 2023 after a long illness. Her last days were filled with visits from family and friends. She was born in Richmond, Virginia on November 20, 1946, to Wilbur H. Woodson, Jr. (deceased) and Paige L. Norman Thigpen. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Paige and Frank Thigpen of West Point; one son, Robert E. Hewlett Jr.; three daughters, Christy Beth Anderson, Amanda Paige Jackson, and Frances Therese Hoek. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren: Catherine, Robert III, Kevin, Lauren, Joshua, Emmarose, Elin, Michael, Alexander, Elijah, Sarah, Ezra, Zelda, and Remy; three great-grandchildren: Jayla, Leonidas, and James; as well as three sisters: Gwen, Theresa, and Corey; and a brother Roland. She was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur “Butch” and a sister Colette.
Visiting hours will be held at 5 – 7pm, Friday, February 3rd at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th St., West Point, VA. A graveside service and interment in Sunny Slope Cemetery will take place Saturday, February 4th at 11am.
Paige was known for her love of history and for the outdoors. She was as happy atop a tractor as she was leading tours for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation at which she worked for seventeen years. She was especially fond of her time with the Teacher’s Institute program. She also worked for the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation. She enjoyed landscaping, gardening, feeding the turkey buzzards outside her home, and passing on her knowledge and expertise to her many grandchildren.
