Katharine “Kim” Steele, 81, of Newport News, VA formerly of St. Marys, PA, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, August 20, 2022.

She was born May 31, 1941 in St. Marys, PA the daughter of the late Edmund and Janet (Bauer) Malburg.

Kim was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1959. She was a member of St. Jeromes Catholic Church in Newport News and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. After moving to Newport News in 1989 she obtained her real estate license and sold real estate until her retirement. She enjoyed camping and traveling.

Kim is survived by her children, Scott McClain (Bliss) of Conway, SC,  Brad Steele (Lisa) of Lake Placid, FL, Kathy Schmitz (Max) of Mayo, MD, Sean Steele (MacKenzie Medford) of Newport News, VA, and Jenn Maynard (Bill) of Titusville, FL. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family.

Kim is survived by her three brothers, George Malburg (Liz) of St. Marys, PA, Harry Malburg (Jeanette) of Indiana, PA and Jon Malburg of Clearwater, FL.

Kim leaves behind her friend and companion of over 30 years, Edward Connors of Newport News, VA.

A Funeral Mass for Kim Steele will be celebrated at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Newport News, VA on Monday, August 29, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. George Prado officiating. Interment will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News, VA.

Friends and family will be received at the Weymouth Funeral Home and Crematory, Newport News, VA on Sunday afternoon between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m  August 28, 2022.
