NEWPORT NEWS — On February 16, 2022, in Newport News, Virginia, Jane Veazey, an adored mother and good friend passed away from a sudden illness.
She was born Jane Froman Kimrey, on November 24, 1937, in Durham, North Carolina. Her late parents were Lester and Carrie (Clayton) Kimrey.
In 1958, she was married to James Veazey, also of Durham. Their union endured for sixty-three years, until his passing in December of 2021.
Jane worked at various financial and clerical jobs over her life, and retired from Unified Industries of Springfield, Virginia in 1997.
She is survived by two sons, Jason and Brian, daughters-in-law Karen Acord Veazey and Nancy Figueroa, granddaughters Hope, Paige, Savanna, Erica, and brother Clay Kimrey.
A memorial service for both James and Jane will be held on Tuesday, March 15, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Denbigh Chapel, in Newport News. They will be interred together on a later date at the Culpeper National Cemetery. in Culpeper, Virginia.
