Antuan Jamal ‘Twista’ White, 29, cherished his work-family at Blooms Landscaping Company

WILLIAMSBURG — Antuan Jamal “Twista” White, 29, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, June 25, 2021. He was born Nov. 13, 1991, to Sylvia White and John Royal III.

He confessed his life to Christ at an early age, was baptized, and joined St. John Baptist Church, Toano. He attended Sunday school at St. John.

Growing up, Antuan loved football and played football in the Williamsburg Youth League with the Hornets, where he was known as “Antuan, The Bus White.” He later continued to play football with James Blair Middle School and Lafayette High School.

Twista, as his friends knew him, enjoyed going to the Inclyne Gym, where he worked out regularly. He was currently employed with Blooms Landscaping Company, where his boss and coworkers loved him.

Antuan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Johnnie Lee Sr.; great-grandparents, Elijah and Carrie White; and uncles, Gregory Morris, Johnnie Lee Jr., and Carlos Cotman.

Antuan Jamal White is survived by his mother, Sylvia White; father, John Royal III; brother, Cameron White, beloved grandparents, Donald and Doris Morris; step-grandmother, Florence Cotman Lee; aunts, Michelle Lee, Keisha Brown, and Lisa Royal; uncle, William Brown; devoted great-aunt, Clara Johnson; great-aunt, Rosa Cotman (Charlie); great-uncle, Miles White; godmother, Justina Tyler; devoted friend, Antonavi Ashby; special friend, Willie Campbell; devoted cousins; Julie White and Terrell Johnson; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

A walk-through viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, July 2, at Whiting’s Funeral Home, 7005 Pocahontas Trail, Williamsburg. Funeral services will be held at noon, Saturday
July 3, at Bethel Restoration Center, 6205 Richmond Road, Williamsburg.
