NEWPORT NEWS — Annette Mary Delzell Hodges, 85, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and lived most of her life in Newport News.
Annette’s love was the purest and unconditionally kind. She was a true angel on earth. She welcomed everyone with open arms and a caring heart. Her greatest joy was her family. She loved going to watch her grandchildren’s school programs, games, graduations and would attend all family gatherings just to be around the people she loved. She and her husband were active in their church, St. Jerome Catholic Church, where she volunteered. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, Hallmark movies, trips with family and going out to eat.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, John; and two sons, Steve and Nick.
Annette leaves behind her son, Joe; daughter, Linda (Bob); along with granddaughter, Bernadette; grandsons, Douglas and Lucas; two step-granddaughters, Susan and Nancy; and three great-grandsons, Tyler, Noah and Zachary.
Her beautiful and sweet soul will forever be missed! She is irreplaceable, but we find peace in knowing that she is with the amazing people who went before her.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1:30p.m., Saturday, May 8, at Weymouth Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jerome Catholic Church.
Share online condolences with the family at Weymouth Funeral Home.
