WILLIAMSBURG — Frances Schaaf Shepherd, 104, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021.
She graduated from the Richmond Division of The College of William & Mary and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at The College of William & Mary, Williamsburg, in 1938.
She was a member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church, Azalea Garden Club, life member of Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs, Heritage Republican Women’s Club and XX Century Art Gallery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Brigadier General James McMenamin Shepherd.
Survivors include her two sons, William F. Shepherd (Carol) and James S. Shepherd (Ashma); four grandchildren, Aline Frances, Mary Catherine (William), James E. (Melinda) and David C. (Bridget); and eight great-grandchildren.
Burial will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the local Salvation Army or veterans fund.
