GRAFTON — Gwen Amory Langley, 93, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Steamboat Phillips, on Sept. 11, 1972, the father of her three children Charles King, Wayne and Becky. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Langley, on Feb. 9, 2004; and two sons.
Her life was the love of her children, she loved them more than life itself. Gwen was employed by the federal government for 32 years. Her favorite thing to do was lay on Yorktown Beach every weekend in her younger years; meaning, in her 60s. She enjoyed camping and meeting new friends. She loved her nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Special thanks to Faye Minor and her grandson, Chuck Phillips, for the special care they gave her at the end.
Special moments: There will never be a greater love between mother and daughter than what we had and the good times together. Mom, I love you so much and will continue to think of you every day and remember you as the greatest mom ever.
A special service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 6, at Grafton Christian Church. A celebration of her life will be held at a later time.
