HAMPTON — Jonnie Ann Hensley, 63, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021.
Jonnie worked for Newport News Public Schools for over 20 years as a reading specialist and instructional assistant. She had a gift for working with children and loved seeing them succeed.
She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, cheering on the Nationals and Eagles, and finding inspiration in her favorite T.V. personality, Judge Judy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Hensley; and parents, John and Barbara Morris.
Jonnie is survived by her children, Nick Hensley of Newport News and Meagan Hensley of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; sisters, Lori Mehaffey and Trish Cowan of Hampton; brother, Pete Morris of Luray; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 20, at Providence Free Will Baptist Church, Hampton.
