WILLIAMSBURG — Carey Preston Adams, 88, passed away Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Clayton Adams; and brother, David Adams.
Carey was an electronic technician for both the Norfolk International and Newport News airports. He had a passion for anything electrical and he loved to tinker, taking things apart to see how they worked. He was equally handy at woodworking.
Always active and going, Carey loved to learn. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was especially fond of organic gardening, and recycled anything he could, earning himself the nickname “Mulch King.” He was a longtime member of Williamsburg United Methodist Church.
Carey is survived by his wife, Carolyn Bristow Adams; sons, Tom Adams, Mike Adams and Steve Adams (Karen); daughter, Sharon Adams; and grandchildren, Brian, Nicole, Victoria, Cody, Sam and Kevin.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 22, at Nelsen Funeral Home, Williamsburg. A private burial will be held in Williamsburg Memorial Park.
