WILLIAMSBURG — God called our beloved Ronald Leroy Lassiter Sr., 71, to everlasting rest Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020. Ronnie’s earthly journey began Dec. 31, 1948, the third child born to the late Carl and Mary Lassiter of Williamsburg.

Ronnie attended the Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1967 from Berkeley High School.

Ronnie had a personality that couldn’t be beat. He always had a jovial way that would make grown folks laugh out loud and children giggle. He was a member of the Buffalo Boyz Motorcycle Club and enjoyed group riding, working and participating in their activities and events. A great joy for everyone to see was Ronnie singing with the Buffalo Boyz when they sang at many programs throughout the years. He always enjoyed having his friends and family visit him at the “garage,” a gathering of the minds as he called it.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Lassiter; son, Carlos Lassiter; granddaughter, Jessica Smith; brother, William “Billy” Lassiter; and nephew, Carl L. Lassiter III.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 35 years, Francine Scott Lassiter; children, Ronald Lassiter Jr. (Teresa Pearce), Seneca Lassiter (Esperanza), Rondell Lassiter, Troy Scott, Sherita Hamilton Lassiter (Renee) and Missy Hill (Wayne); cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; godson, Kevin Jones; siblings, Carl Lassiter Jr. (Coleen), Curtis Lassiter Sr. (Cynthia), Mary Lassiter and Sandra Clyburn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A walk-through viewing will be held from 1 to 5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20, at Whiting’s Funeral Home. A homegoing service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 21, at St. John Baptist Church. Due to the current health pandemic, all attendees must remain in their vehicles. Facebook livestreaming will be available for this service.

Flowers and condolences may be sent to 105 Selby Lane, Williamsburg, VA 23185. Share online condolences with the family at Whiting’s Funeral Home.
