WILLIAMSBURG — Darryle Alonzo “Stix” Graves, 65, peacefully answered the Master’s call Friday, Sept. 4, 2020. He was born April 23, 1955, to the late Edith Elizabeth Graves and Raymond Reed Sr. of Toano.

He attended James Blair High School. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined Chickahominy Baptist Church. Stix, as he was affectionately called, was a jack of all trades working as a deep sea welder, landscaper and in construction. He was also an excellent sketch artist.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lekeyia Marrow; and sisters, Connie Meekins, Raymond Shackleford and Rose Reed.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories with his son, Alonzo Daquan Graves; fianceé, Deborah Jackson; stepmother, Blanche Reed; siblings, Queen Cooley, Patricia Johnson (Chris), twins, Kimberly Washington (Joseph) and Timothy Graves, Gloria Roberson, Preston Graves Sr. (Shalean), Micheal Graves (JoAnn), Dennis Meekins, Raymond Reed Jr. (Catherine), Pedesdo Reed (Josephine) and Stacy Graves Sr. (Diana); and a host of aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A public walk-through viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday, Sept. 14, at Whiting’s Funeral Home. Face coverings and social distancing will be required. A private funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Sept. 14. Facebook livestreaming will be available for the service.
