Gareth Richard Green, 63, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2020, after a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil B. Green, and survived by his mother, Elizabeth Green. He grew up in Newport News.
As a young adult, Gareth left for New York City to make his mark on the world. He accomplished this, becoming a celebrity makeup artist who also became lifelong, good friends with his clients.
An article about his work appeared in the January 2010 issue of the Williamsburg Magazine. Gareth was charismatic and loving, with a big heart and gentle soul. Everyone he met was quickly his friend. As a devout Christian, Gareth’s favorite expression was “be kind,” and that is how he lived his life.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 1, at Life Center Church, 4451 Longhill Road, Williamsburg.
