
Eula Mae Hendrix, 84, of Newport News, passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Hendrix; mother, Eva M. Denton; and other family members, Yvonne Cleona Bridges, also known as “Bonnie,” Jennifer M. Lewis and Nicholas Hendrix.
Eula was an avid gardener during her life, but her greatest pride and joy came from being the matriarch for her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Regina Strickland, Thomas E. Hendrix, and his wife, Linda, Teresa Stephens, and her husband, Rick, and Tammy Perry, and her husband, Larry W. Perry Jr.; grandchildren, Christina York, Stephanie Lewis, Mallory Webb, Ashley Strickland, Chris Hendrix, Joe Hendrix, Brandon Hendrix, Lyndzee Brock, Tyler Brock, Ricky E.J. Stephens, Lee Anna R. Stephens, John Stephens, Brian Perry and Tim Perry; as well as 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 12, followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:30 p.m., at Altmeyer Funeral Home-Denbigh Chapel, 12893 Jefferson Ave., Newport News. Interment will take place at 3 p.m. in Parklawn Memorial Park, 2539 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton.
The family would like to thank the staff members and everyone involved in Eula’s care during these last few years.
