Brenda Murray Watson, 59, unconditionally loved her family and friends

Brenda Murray Watson, 59, of Hampton, passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at home.

Born Feb. 27, 1960, in Kearny, New Jersey, she lived in Hampton, for over 50 years. Brenda graduated from Kecoughtan High School in 1978. She was also a graduate of the Shipyard Apprenticeship and worked as a designer for the Shipyard until 1997.

Preceded in death by her father, Edward George Murray, she is survived by her mother, Mary Edward Murray of Carrolton; daughter, Marianne Brooke Watson; granddaughter, Teagan Leigh Watson of Hampton; two sisters, Valerie Link of Newport News and Elizabeth Spain of Carrollton; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Brenda loved her family and friends unconditionally. She was the family’s cornerstone and made every effort to keep her extended families in contact and together. She was loving, kind and caring, always thinking of others. She was so proud of her daughter, Marianne; and granddaughter, Teagan, was the apple of her eye. Brenda will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 9, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Hampton. Immediately following at 11 a.m., Brenda’s life will be celebrated.

In memory of Brenda, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society/Breast Cancer.
