Benjamin Harrison Kornhaus Jr., 87, a lifelong area resident, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019.
He owned and operated Kornhaus Brothers Inc. for more than 50 years and was a member of Huntington Mennonite Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria J. Kornhaus; son, Elton D. Kornhaus; and grandchild, Dean Bryan Kornhaus.
Survivors include two children, Carrie Kornhaus Kraus (Tom) of Lindale, Texas, and Wanda Kornhaus of Abingdon; sister, Anna Eichelberger of Florida; six grandchildren, Erika Kraus, Heidi Stanley, Cristy Williams, Michael Kraus, Bryan Kornhaus and Peter Kraus; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, at W.J. Smith & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 7, at Huntington Mennonite Church. Burial will follow in Warwick River Mennonite Church Cemetery.
