Our heavenly Father sent His angels to Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019, to bring our beloved Michael Boyd “Mike” Piggott, 54, home to be with Him. His life’s journey began July 8, 1965, the youngest son of the late Shirley Piggott Sr. and Ethel Lee Cuffie.
Michael was employed for 14 years with Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, 12 years with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation; and many years at the Lightfoot Community Market, known as “Happy Store.”
Mike was well known for his magnetic personality and charming smile. His memory will forever live throughout the Williamsburg community, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but we find comfort in knowing that he is now resting in the arms of Jesus. “Sleep on dear one and take your well-deserved rest; we love you, but God loves you best.”
His precious memories will forever live in the hearts of his sister, Celestine Piggott; brother, Shirley Piggott Jr.; nieces, Latasha Piggott Canady, Shannell Piggott Fitzgerald, Nichole Piggott, Shawanda Reed Little and Kiya Piggott; nephews, Alphonzo Piggott, Antoine Piggott and Larry Hamlet; many great-nieces and great-nephews; dear and devoted friends, Keith Druitt, George “Noonie” Piggott, Wanda Hawkins, Clarine Bowman and David Suiter; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A homegoing service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Whiting’s Chapel. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Family and friends are to assemble at the funeral home by 12:30 p.m. Mr. Piggott may be viewed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
Share online condolences with the family at Whiting’s Funeral Home.
