Bonnie Lynn (Middleton) Schilbach, 51, of Yorktown, Virginia, was called home to be with the Lord on June 29, 2026.
Born on October 15, 1974, in the Sheppard Air Force Base hospital, Wichita Falls, Texas, Bonnie was the daughter of Gregg and Regina Middleton. As a military child, she lived in many different places across the United States including Fort Walton Beach, Florida; Jacksonville, Illinois; Sumter, South Carolina; Belleville, Illinois; Miami, Florida; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Anchorage, Alaska, graduating from Barlett High School in 1993.
After becoming an Army wife and a mother to her twin sons, Jonathan and Jacob, she continued to move across the country and support her family. Throughout the years, she lived in North Carolina, Wisconsin, Louisiana, northern Virginia, Illinois, and Georgia before finally settling in Yorktown, Virginia.
Her sons Jonathan and Jacob were the loves of her life. She was a fierce advocate and champion of their dreams of music production, mechanics, and serving in the military. Her love and support helped their dreams become reality, and she was incredibly proud of her boys.
Bonnie was also an animal lover, especially her dachshunds, Maggie and Scarlett, as well as her sister’s dogs Luna and Daisy. She had a passion for all things 80’s and 90’s, often reminiscing about roller skating, playing outside until the streetlights came on, and watching MTV and movies for hours on end. She enjoyed spending time with both her immediate and extended family. She will be remembered for her epic storytelling and infectious laughter…you couldn’t help but smile. She will be missed terribly by those that love her.
She is survived by her parents Gregg and Regina Middleton, sisters Karen Frock (Brandon) and Stephanie Horton (Kyle), sons Jonathan and Jacob Schilbach, adopted daughter Atalaya Stanley, four nephews, one niece, one great-niece, and her uncle, aunts and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her son Jayden Schilbach; grandparents William and Virginia Middleton and William “Gene” and Bonnie Caldwell; aunts Cheryl Rheynard and Gretta Middleton; and uncles David Middleton and Danny Colwell.
A celebration of life will be held on a later date in Pittsfield, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
