Ann is survived by her sister, Susan Tiberghien of Geneva, Switzerland; four children, Arthur Bruce Boehm III of Cleveland, Ohio, Susan Boehm Reynolds of Cambridge, Massachusetts, William Hollister Boehm of Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Jeffrey Stuart Boehm of Lexington, Massachusetts. All four children are married and Ann’s family has grown to include nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Arthur Bruce Boehm Jr.; and her partner of three years, William Salmon.
Ann was born Aug. 21, 1931, in Dobbs Ferry, New York, to Eunice and Hollister Marquardt. She attended Cornell University, where she was known as “Biff,” and married her college sweetheart, Bruce, soon after graduating in 1953. Her life with Bruce included happy homes in Midland, Michigan; Morristown, New Jersey; Frankfurt, Germany; and Brussels, Belgium.
Throughout a life filled with love for her family and many friends, Ann always exhibited a remarkable ability to create happy memories with anyone she met. She was very active with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, formerly known as Christopher Wren Association, the College of William & Mary and the Muscarelle Museum of Art. She was an avid bridge player, skier, golfer, and world traveler well into her 80s. Her children will always remember her as a mom who was never too busy to put their needs first.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Williamsburg United Methodist Church, with a reception to follow at the church. The Rev. Meghan Roth Clayton and Chaplin Caitlin Hoy will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ann’s life.
