
Lorraine Johnson, 71, entered into eternal rest Monday, Nov. 26, 2018. Her life began Oct. 7, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Cleveland and Queenesther Thomas.
She retired from Eastern State Hospital after 35 years of a service as a certified nursing assistant. She was a faithful member of Lebanon Christian Church.
She was a sweet and loving person who loved caring for others. She also enjoyed going shopping and spending time with her best friend “Peachy.” She also had a cat, affectionately known as “Sam,” who she absolutely adored.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories, three sons, Arthur Johnson Jr., Derrick Johnson and Charles “B.J.” Callis III (Veronica); grandchildren, Aliyah, Justlea, Shawn, Willie, Aaron and Jamel; mother, Queenesther Thomas; brother, Cleveland Thomas; sister, Vernae Simmons (Benjamin); special friends, Joel Kandra and Peaches Holland; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Mrs. Johnson may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Whiting’s Funeral Home. A service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Lebanon Christian Church with Pastor Dennis Worsham officiating. Family and friends are to assemble at the church by 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
