Jonathan Cody Hall, 38, left a void in our lives Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018. Jonathan was a man of many talents, a lover of family and a lover of life.

He had a passion for continued learning and especially for the written word, with degrees in English and psychology and a minor in classical literature from the University of Florida, graduating class of 2002. He held a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Creative Writing with a minor in poetry from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He went on to earn a Masters of Health Science, Physician Assistant Degree from South College in Knoxville. He served for seven years at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, Virginia, specializing in care for the elderly.

He was a humanist and free-thinker; when not caring for others, he could be found reading the great works of literature and psychology, or enjoying film and music, or crafting gourmet culinary dishes. His greatest pride was his four beautiful children.

He leaves behind his wife Rene’; son, Cody, daughters, Hailey, Ashely and Zoe; brother, Joel; sister, Chrissie; stepmother, Juliann; and beloved father, John.

A memorial service will be held at noon, Sunday, Nov. 11, at Bucktrout Funeral Home, 4124 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg.
