
Edna Mae Woodson, 88, of Williamsburg, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2018. Mae was born in England and devoted her life to serving and supporting the military.
A lifelong volunteer, Mae spent her free time doing what she enjoyed, needlework, gardening and going to yard sales with her friends. She used her yard sale hobby to benefit others by donating collected dolls to children in need. Edna also enjoyed making and decorating dollhouses to help raise money for the troops. She was a longtime volunteer at the Naval Weapons Station Thrift Store, a member of the Woman’s Club of Toano and a Patriot Red Hatter.
Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis V. Woodson; parents, William and Lillian Harrison; brother, Cliff Harrison; and sister, Edith Stanil.
She is survived by her son, Randy Angle; stepchildren, Vic Woodson, Randy Woodson (Karen) and Lisa Woodson Duncan (Bud); sister-in-law, Eileen Harrison; grandchildren, Taylor Woodson and Jonah Duncan; and many nephews and nieces.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 1, at Williamsburg Memorial Park, 130 King William Drive, Williamsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mae’s name to Brookdale Williamsburg Memory Care for Alzheimer’s Awareness, 3800 Treyburn Drive, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
