
June Juanita Holt Iannuzzi, 85, passed away Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, of natural causes. Born Aug. 20, 1933, in Charlotte County, to the late R. Garland and Mae Morris Holt, she graduated from Appomattox High School in 1951 in Appomattox. She graduated from Madison College (now JMU) in 1955, with a major in library science and received a graduate degree in education from the College of William & Mary in 1971.
Employed as a librarian in the Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools for 30 years, she organized the libraries for Lafayette High School and Jamestown High School when those schools opened. She participated in several educational organizations during her employment and had been a member of the Williamsburg Junior Women’s Club. Her church affiliation had been with the Williamsburg United Methodist Church.
Wife of the late Dominic Patrick Iannuzzi for 52 years, they had resided in Williamsburg since 1957. They are the parents of three sons, J. Michael, and his wife, Julie, of Cortlandt Manor, New York, Mark P., and his wife, Diana, of Williamsburg and David A., and his wife, Lisa of Midlothian; grandparents of seven grandchildren, Gregory, Ashley, Anthony, Nicholas, Emily, Rose and Ethan, and two step-grandchildren, Matthew and Randi. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jane Woodson of Lynchburg, and is survived by her brother, Robert Holt of Appomattox, and several nieces and nephews.
During her retirement, she enjoyed reading, travel and, especially, lunch with many friends and former colleagues. Also of great enjoyment was the yearly family vacation to Nags Head with her sons, their wives and her grandchildren. Always a lady, proper and dignified, she will be missed by many.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg. Services will take place at noon, Thursday, Sept. 13, at Nelsen Funeral Home with interment to follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park.
