
Monica M. Ruscus, 75, a longtime resident of Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018. She was born July 2, 1943, in Passaic, New Jersey.
Monica attended Rutgers University in New Jersey. She retired from the Orientation and Admissions Department of Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and the Health Service Department at Busch Gardens. She worked part time as secretary to the Ascension of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church parish.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Anne Kasica; sister, Mary Anne Scheff, and husband, John C. Ruscus.
She is survived by her brother, Walter S. Kasica of Odenton, Maryland; sister, Joan Marie Kasica of Elmwood Park, New Jersey; brother-in-law, and sister-in-law, Frank and Judi Ruscus of Wesley Chapel, Florida; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Callery of Bridgewater, New Jersey; 17 nieces and nephews; 10 grand-nieces, grand-nephews and two great-grand-nieces; and many treasured, dear and great friends.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg. A service will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Ascension of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church, 114 Palace Lane, Williamsburg. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park Cemetery, 130 King William Drive, Williamsburg.
