Joe Ashton Whitfield Jr., 73, transitioned to his heavenly home Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, at Riverside Doctors’ Hospital, Williamsburg.
As a 50-plus year resident of Williamsburg, Joe leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 51 years, Elsie Whitfield; sons, Marvin and Mark Whitfield; daughter, Jennell Whitfield Riddick (Dwight); and a host of other relatives and friends.
A wake and viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, at Shiloh Baptist Church, Yorktown. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 7, at Gethsemane Baptist Church, Newport News.
