Christy Lyn Gabler, 55, a native of Florida, died peacefully Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at home with family by her side following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, devoted friend and colleague to so many. Christy inspired all with her zest for life, sense of adventure and bright smile. Her husband of 35 years, Ernie, said it best, “She was the perfect military wife. Never questioning how long I would be gone on deployment or how many times we had to move. With her dedicated and faithful support, I could leave to defend our country and never worry about home.” Christy was a land record recorder with Gloucester County Circuit Court for more than 10 years.
Her father, Williams Fraasa, preceded her in death. In addition to her husband, she is survived by their son, Evan Gabler, and his wife, Ashley; daughter, Kaley Edwards, and her husband, Thomas; four grandchildren, Easton and Knox Gabler and Payton and Livia Edwards; mother, Mary Margaret Fraasa; brothers, Steve Fraasa, and his wife, Yeshi, and Reed Fraasa, and his wife, Dana; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be private.
In honor of Christy, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice of Virginia, 263 McLaws Circle, Suite 100, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
We would like to extend a special thank you to Patty, Heather, Shameka and Mary for their compassion and love (our Angels on Earth).
