
Eleni Konstandinides, 90, of Williamsburg, passed peacefully from earthly life to eternal life Sunday, May 27, 2018.
Eleni was born April 22, 1928, to parents Anthony and Lemonia Sirgiannis, in Edessa, Greece, and moved to America in 1969. Eleni loved spending time with her family, and she cherished her Greek culture, heritage and customs. Eleni possessed an adventurous spirit, a keen sense of humor, a special appreciation for all of God’s creations in nature and served as a pillar of spiritual strength for those around her.
She was a caring homemaker and exceptional seamstress and tailor for Belk’s and St. John’s Boutique in Charlotte, North Carolina.
She is survived by her daughter, Angie Howe; grandchildren, Elaina and Anna Howe; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives in America, Greece and Australia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anastasios Konstandinides, in 1987.
Eleni’s family and friends will always remember her sweet and gentle spirit and the countless blessings she bestowed upon their lives. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, with a Trisagion service at 7 p.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 31, at the church.
