Melva White Tillett, 93, of Virginia Beach, Va., passed away Friday, March 30, 2018, with her family by her side.
Born in Knotts Island, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Fred and Hettie White and the widow of Emmett Douglas Tillett. She was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church.
Melva is survived by her daughters, Marlene Tillett and Melanie Tillett French; grandchildren, Elizabeth Andrus (Ben), Christopher Barry, Michael Clinton, Robert Clinton (Tamara), Daniel Clinton (Stephanie), Kathryn Cooke and Brandon French (Bridgette); 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Alston White; sister, Jean Smith; and sister-in-law, Iona White.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be held in Rosewood Memorial Park.
