
Alton Wade Tyler, 49, affectionately known as “Al Green,” of Toano, Va., was called home to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 21, 2018. He was born June 27, 1968, son of Woody Green Sr. and Marie Tyler, in Richmond, Va.
Alton enjoyed living most of his life on Ivy Hill Road and dedicated himself to his family and community. Although he faced many health obstacles throughout his adult life, he leaves a legacy of overcoming, loving others and helping anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Zack and Ella Mae Tyler; mother-in-law, Teresa Gail Faircloth; and sister, Cynthia Tyler.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Angie Mickles-Tyler; children, Bryan Tyler, Aaliyah Tyler and Tristan Tyler; grandson, Levi Wood; sisters, Lisa Green (Melvin) and Maria Tyler; brothers, Woody Green Jr. and Frederick Green; sister-in-law, Rebecca Waller; and a host of many other beloved family and friends.
A service of remembrance will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 24, at Whiting’s Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
