Gerda Ingrid Meyer, 71, of Virginia Beach, departed for eternal life on Friday, April 8, 2016. She was born in Trier, Germany, with a zest for life that sustained each day she was with us. She will be fondly remembered for her genuine care and loving support of family and friends as well as her love of fashion.
Left to cherish her memory are the love of her life and husband of 53 years, Robert Meyer; and daughters, Deanna Meyer-Pietruszka, and her husband, Steven, and Suzette Kuhn, and her husband, Ted. She will also be lovingly remembered forever by her grandchildren, Tyler, Morgan, Clarke, Max and Troy, as ‘Omi.’
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, with a reception to follow.
Gerda loved flowers in life. If you so desire, please join us in memorializing her by sending or bringing a small floral offering that she can then take with her on her journey to heaven.
