Betty Jean ‘Red’ Ketterman, 72, passed Saturday, April 2, 2016. She was born December 20, 1943, to the late Mel and Velma Whitson in Norfolk.
Betty was a graduate of Norfolk Catholic High School. She was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and retired as manager of ARA Transportation. Betty was a member of St. Pius X Church and she loved her church. ‘Red,’ as she was affectionately known, loved her cats, embroidery, Christmas, deer hunting and fishing. She had several deer under her belt.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Velma ‘Bug’ Fowler; and a brother, Mickey Whitson.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Daniel Ketterman III (Kammie) and John Ketterman; three grandchildren, Virginia and Samantha Ketterman and Craig Strain; one niece, Denise Szymanski; one nephew, Dennis Fowler; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at Beach Funeral & Cremation Services Inc.
