Diane M.F. Osborne, 58, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016. Diane was a native of Flourtown, Pa., and a Peninsula resident for more than 21 years.
She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson Nursing School and received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University. She was a volunteer with the American Red Cross in Yorktown and past president of the Windy Point Recreation Center. She was also a Virginia State Diving Champion coach at Grafton, Tabb and York high schools. Her radiant smile and vibrant spirit will be everlasting.
Diane was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia ‘Patsy’ Mawhinney; and a brother, Thomas Foley. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Paul D. Osborne, M.D.; two sons, Brian P. Osborne, and his fiancée, Shanna Martin, of Poquoson and Andrew M. Osborne of Lynchburg; a daughter, Julianne D. Osborne of Norfolk; two brothers, David Foley of Long Island, N.Y., and John Foley; and a grandchild, Emma Faye Osborne.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 12, in the chapel of Amory Funeral Home, Grafton. The family will receive friends following service at the residence. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 14, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
