Criselda dela Cruz Fernandez, 67, loved to travel the world, especially by cruise ship

Criselda dela Cruz Fernandez, 67, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016. Born in the Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Ireneo and Victoria dela Cruz.

She was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Mark, Samahang Tagalog, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, East Coast San Antonian Inc., Zambales Association Inc. and United Ilocano Association of Tidewater. She enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, watching her grandson play baseball, gardening, shopping, spending time with family, especially her grandchildren’s activities, and hanging out with her brother and sisters.

Left to cherish her memory: her husband, Federico Fernandez; daughter, Shirlene Bausas, and husband, Rex; son, Cyril Fernandez, and wife, Joanne; grandchildren, Andrew, Ben and Elizabeth Bausas; and siblings, Linda Harris, Aurelio dela Cruz, Jimena Dolor, Merlyn Guerrero, Estella Imperial, Susana Manuel, Teresita Laconsay and Conchita Conception; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, and Friday, March 4, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at the Catholic Church of St. Mark by the Rev. Fr. Anthony Mpungu. Entombment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park Mausoleum.
