William ‘Bill’ Thomas Shields, 74, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016.
He served in the U.S. National Guard Reserves and worked for 37 years at A&P Supermarkets. He loved collecting antiques and enjoyed creating beautiful flower gardens in his yard. He was a lifetime member of Zion United Methodist Church and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Thomas and Lillian Byrum Shields.
A funeral service officiated by Pastor David Magruder will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, February 19, at Zion United Methodist Church in Seaford. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A reception will be held in the church social hall following the service.
Memorial donations may be made to the Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 240, Seaford, VA 23696, flowers would also be appreciated.
