Thomas Barrie Williams, 48, Culinary Institute of America trained chef

Thomas Barrie Williams, of Williamsburg, died Sept. 4, 2015, at the age of 48.

Tom was the son of Margaret Whelan Williams, of Williamsburg and the late Col. J. Barrie Williams.

Tom proudly served in the U.S. Army. A chef trained at the Culinary Institute of America, Tom spent 20 years in the restaurant business. He loved to cook and to make people laugh and he loved his children and his family.

Tom is survived by his children, Jessica Williams, of Williamsburg, Phillip Drake Williams and his wife Allison, of Norge, and Sierra Halstead, of Altus, Oklahoma; sisters, Meg Williams, of Arlington, Mattille Williams Sherwood. husband Bill and children Josephine and Wyatt, of Sterling; and brother, Stephen Williams, wife Tammy and children Madeline and Grace, of Williamsburg.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg.

In lieu of flowers, please remember the Eastern Virginia Region of the American Red Cross.
