Christine “Chris” Creech, of Yorktown and a lifelong Peninsula resident, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at the age of 64.
She retired from the College of William & Mary as an assistant registrar of the law school. She was a member of Noland Memorial United Methodist Church until it merged with First United Methodist Church, where she continued to attend. At Noland she was an acolyte and she also taught Sunday school. She was also a member of the Hand Bell Choir and the Vocal Choir.
She loved to read, spend time at the beach and was a loyal Redskins and Hokies fan. Most of all she loved and cherished spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Linwood Creech; sons, Travis Creech and his wife, Cassie, and Brian Creech, all of Newport News; sisters, Sandy Blake and husband, Gary, of Hampton and Lisa McCarthy and husband, Shawn, of Newport News; brother, Robert Warren and wife, Carol, of Chesapeake; grandsons, Luke and Brayden; and seven nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their thanks and gratitude for all the love, support, cards, visits and food from all their dear friends and family, as well as the whole Riverside Hospital staff.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, 2015, at First United Methodist Church with the burial to follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.
