
Longtime Peninsula resident, Charles E. Scott, of Yorktown, died unexpectedly on Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at the age of 78.
He was a native of Lewisburg, Tenn. and graduated from Tennessee Tech with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1958. After 35 years of exceptional service, he retired from NASA – Instrument Research Division.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carol and their children, Sandra Gail McIntire (Craig), Katherine Ann Butler (Gary) and Kenneth Edward Scott (Missy); a brother, Paul Liggett Scott, of Brentwood, Tenn.; and grandchildren, Kevin and Julie McIntire, Scott and Keith Butler and Claire Scott.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmack and Allene Scott and a brother, William Dugger Scott.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at Amory Funeral Home, Grafton. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at the chapel of Amory Funeral Home, Grafton. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.
