
Rose Bublis Munzel, of Williamsburg, died July 2, 2014, after 105 years on earth.
Mrs. Munzel was born in southern Illinois, grew up in Chicago and reared her son in Park Ridge, Ill. She and her husband moved to Williamsburg in 1980. A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she loved to garden, cook, read and play golf. She was a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church.
She taught us all many things and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Ann Marino, of Chicago and her husband, Edgar H. Munzel, a sports writer and member of the Baseball Hall of Fame.
She is survived by her only son, Dr. Thomas Munzel and his wife, Karen, of Williamsburg; grandchildren, Tia Adams (husband, Brian), of Williamsburg and Greg Munzel (wife, Alexandra), of Charleston, S.C.; and great-grandchildren, Ashley Belle Adams, Luke Adams, Banks Adams and Maddox Munzel.
A family graveside service will be held at a later date.
The family is indebted to the wonderful care givers at Consulate Healthcare of Williamsburg who saw to Mrs. Munzel’s every need the last few years of her life.
