
Paul Voigt, a native of La Marque, Texas and a Peninsula resident since 1988 who lived in Yorktown, died suddenly Sunday March 23, 2014, at Sentara Hampton General Hospital. He was 41.
He was a graduate of Hampton High School and was employed with SecTek at Langley AFB, VA for several years. At the time of his death, he was employed with Eagle Aviation Technology in Hampton. He strongly felt what made his job at Eagle so rewarding was the friends and co-workers he saw on a daily basis; he had a true love for them all.
He had a passion for science fiction games and he mastered many of them. He loved to joke and play pranks on people and loved fishing, playing cards and many outdoor activities. Most of all, he just enjoyed his life, his family and the many friends he knew and loved. He also had a love for his cat and friend, Lord Vader.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Frederick Voigt and brother, Steven Voigt.
He is survived by his mother, Marilyn Paul Voigt and her husband, Joe Nolan; brother, Phillip Douglas Voigt, of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; best friend and fiance, Trista Wilson, of Latrobe, Pa.; aunts, Mary Baker (Dean), of Pearlend, Texas, Evie DeSoto, of Galveston, Texas, Rosalyn Sloan (Gary) of Arkansas, Jean Ellen Levin (Danny) of Oundle, England, Angie Paschal (John) of Pearland, Texas and Jane Bazinet, of Deerfield Beach, Fla., who was also his godmother; and stepsisters, Diane Cooke , Rebekah Nolan and Ginny Carnell.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014, at Amory Funeral Home, Grafton. A funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Yorktown. A reception will follow at the church social hall. A graveside service will held following the reception at 3:30 p.m. at Peninsula Memorial Park.
