VIRGINIA BEACH — Police are looking for a possible online predator who may have paid a 17-year-old girl about $300 for nude pictures before distributing them online.
The teenager told police that she’d met the person — who went by the name “John Meyers” online — through an app called “Seeking Arrangements.” They began emailing and texting on July 17, and the teenager agreed to send “Meyers” nude pictures of herself for money, according to documents filed in Virginia Beach Circuit Court.
In July and August, “Meyers” paid the girl about $300 for nude pictures using PayPal. In August, she realized by using social media that the pictures she sent to “Meyers” were distributed to other people on the internet, court documents state.
In a Sept. 2 search warrant, police obtained digital evidence from Google for information about the email address connected to the PayPal account used to pay the girl for the pictures.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Virginia Beach Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
