WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center (WCAC) is set to host its Fall Members’ Co-op Show starting on Aug. 10. The art show will run through Sept. 23 in WCAC’s main and middle galleries.
Just like the Spring 2022 Members’ Co-op show, the Fall Co-op Show is made up of artists, photographers, and artisans that work in a variety of mediums and artistic styles.
“The Members Co-op Show offers our members’ artists the opportunity to exhibit a collection of their best works in the center’s galleries. Our visitors also get a better understanding and view of each artist or artisan’s unique style and capabilities,” said WCAC President Janis Wood. “We will be featuring 12 participating artists and artisans and each will have his or her own wall or section. We are very excited about the variety of styles and mediums that will be displayed — including two- and three-dimensional artwork.”
WCAC, located at 110 Westover Ave., is open Wednesday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“Running concurrently in the Fireside Gallery will be the annual members’ exhibit entitled ‘Camera to brush and Beyond,’ an ever-popular exhibit that’s fun to see. Participating member photographers contribute one or more photographs that are chosen by artists and/or artisans to interpret in their own style and medium. The original photograph and its interpretation are displayed side-by-side for comparison,” WCAC noted in a press release.
The Artisan Corner, next to the Fireside Gallery, will also feature new works in fiber art, jewelry, ceramics, and other three-dimensional artwork.
The co-op show helps support WCAC’s members. Also, the art show helps spread awareness of local art and artists throughout the community. Therefore, visitors will be able to purchase any piece featured at the show.
