WILLIAMSBURG — Local game store Tap N Roll announced on social media Sunday that it’s opening a second location in Newport News.
The “friendly local game store” first opened in December of 2022, and quickly saw overwhelming support from a community of gamers who have made the store a location to play. In response, the business moved and expanded to a new location in April of 2024 to its current 410 Lightfoot Road location.
The owners assure customers that the location in Williamsburg will remain open and are excited to be opening this second location in Newport News.
“When we first started Tap N Roll, our vision was to create a welcoming place where people could come together around things like Magic, Pokémon and board games. Opening a second location gives us the opportunity to create another gathering place for people to play and connect through games,” said owners Katherine and Jeremy Bass.
“We couldn’t have taken this step without the support of our customers who have chosen to join us on this journey, and we can’t wait to pull up a few more chairs,” they continued.
This new location will feature Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, One Piece, board games, and other trading card and gaming options.
The address for the new store has yet to be officially announced, though a Spring 2026 opening was projected on the social media post.
The store launched an official Newport News location on Instagram, @tapnrollva_nn, for customers to follow to keep up to date. To learn more about Tap N Roll and its offerings, visit its official website.
